When Punxsuawney Phil predicted an early Spring I bet he never predicted record lows on the FIRST day of Spring!! On the news today it said last year we had a record high temp of 85*! And today we are seeing a high of 40* with colder weather yet to come... I'm thinking Phil is a little off this year :)
With my prediction, as of today we have a few more weeks left until Spring.. Other than freezing our butts off and looking at our flipflops with sadness, what does that mean for us??
It means we have few more weeks to plan out our garden!
When we moved into this house 2 years ago the owners already had tomato plants so we continued to grow some last year, along with a variety of peppers, cucumbers and some pumpkins that didn't make it. This year I will be planting an herb garden - I'll post a few pictures below on what I'm thinking of..
Option 1:
Using a closet shoe holder! Although I love this idea, I have no clue where I could safely hang it without putting holes into the siding. If you rent, like me, I don't recommend you start drilling holes! Plus, with this being canvas and white, there's no way it'll continue to be that pretty color. I just imagine it turning brown and messy!
Option 2:
I'm quite in love with this idea! You can easily get the plastic pots on the low low at Walmart or any hardware store. With three different levels I think it give plenty of space for the soil and herbs to grow! Downside of this one.. I have a dog. I'll have to be creative and come up with an idea to keep it off the ground or maybe set it on my front porch. Yaay!
So what's holding you back from planing an herb garden?
